"Do not waster your time or money! "

This is a freeze dried scoby . Also says it’s a Kombucha starter kit, but it doesn’t even come with starter liquid . It also didn’t work for anybody in my Kombucha Facebook group . Find a seller on Amazon that includes a live scoby and STARTER LIQUID !! Response from CFH: Thank you for your honest review. This is a dehydrated scoby, is advertised/named the Kombucha Starter Culture, and is not a kit. To activate this, you do not need starter tea. Distilled white vinegar is the perfect acidic pH to get it going. Many customers and our own staff have been successful with brewing and creating baby scobys, and we'd love to assist you if you want to try it. It really can be done well!

    "Outstanding Company and Awesome Website"

I purchased my scoby in June 2017 and diligently went about the process as described in the instructions to rehydrate the scoby. After several months of brewing, no baby scoby had been produced. I did, however, drink the kombucha hoping the drink would make a difference in digestion. Customer service support was super helpful along the way and gave me some good tips to get the drink going. I tried adding half a bottle of unflavored, raw store-bought tea to my brew. I finally received a second scoby and have started it brewing in a warmer environment and it is producing a scoby already. I put the quart bottle in a styrofoam cooler with a coffee filter on the top secured by a rubber band. Also in the cooler, I put a 12 oz jar of hot water and re-warm it daily (almost daily). It keeps the brew in the proper temperature range. When I open the cooler to re-warm the water, I spray the top of the bottle with white vinegar. I've never had an issue with mold. Thanks CFH.

    "Love this starter"

I have been making kombucha for over a year now, but wanted to start again with 2 new SCOBYs since mine had been sitting for over 6 months. (I know those were probably fine, but when I brewed again my kombucha was yeast-ier than I desired.) These new mothers got things going again!

"Very excited to begin making my own!"

My husband and I really like Kombucha. It gets to be kind of expensive when getting it at the store. Thought I would try making my own to save money and control the ingredients that goes into it. With the support CFH provides, starting it was amazingly easy. Just have to wait for the SCOBY to activate and then ready to begin making my own.

    "Fun and easy"

This is so fun and easy! If you have a question, you just email them and they respond very quickly. I have four going right now and am looking forward to when I have tea every day!!

    "new to cultures"

First impression was not real exciting.....I mean a little package for a price. However, the service and support soon became evident. I was thrilled when the culture started growing after ten days. Now I am really "in to it" and feel my money was well spent.

    "Amazing Scoby kit"

I ordered my kit and it came very quickly. And although it’s still in process of reactivation of the dehydrated Scoby, I’m still super happy of it all and looking forward to my true intial 1st batch of drinkable Kombucha from it. So far it’s doing well. Yay. This my first attempt at Kombucha and I’m loving the learning experiences. Thank you

    "Awesome "

It takes 30 days to get rollling, but now that it’s been a few months, I have delicious kombucha every 7 days! It is actually very, very good! I have not had a “baby scoby” yet, but I bought several starters so I can have one every few days! I mix it with tea to make it last longer. It is SO easy once you get rolling. I am SO happy with this product!

    "Great starter kit!"

I appreciated the thorough, yet not overwhelming, instructions, and having all the necessary items included in the kit.

    "Do not be mislead "

do your research before you buy. it is nearly impossible to make kombucha from a dehydrated SCOBY. Response from CFH: We thank you for your honest opinion of our scoby. We do have a great customer service team who can guide you through the process, as several agents have successfully made kombucha from several dried scobys. We are always happy to help you!

    "Ginger kumbucha"

Mine is still brewing, smells great and looks great! Excited to add the ginger and bottle.

    "Good Idea, poor outcome"

I think the idea of the starter kit is great. Makes the whole idea really approachable and fun to do. However, the dehydrated scoby leaves a lot be desired. I bought two kits and only one appears to have reactivated properly. The other made a batch that tasted of sweet tea and the 2nd fermentation for both scobys was unsuccessful. I wouldn't buy a dehydrated scoby again. But will try the process with a live scoby using all of the CFH tips. Response from CFH: Thank you for continuing to work with us after the submission of the review! Working with sleepy scobys is a bit different than working with scobys that have never been put in this state of dormancy. We hope that our tips have worked, and you are enjoying kombucha. Please feel free to reach out and follow up!

    "6-8 Weeks!"

I was supersized to learn that it would take 4 weeks to get the dehydrated scoby to create another scoby. Then another two to four weeks before I would get to taste this. Lesson learned. Other than that everything looks to be in order. Instructions and the tips are easy to follow. I have made this before a few years ago and it was all from scratch. This kit puts everything you need to get started in one purchase. I would definitely recommend this to someone else but just inform them how long it takes to get started. However once it starts you can have enough every day.

    "8 weeks +"

My daughter was excited about getting ginger Kombucha, didn't realize the scoby starter was going to take 4 weeks before i could even make a full batch, then another 8 weeks plus several weeks in the bottle. Response from CFH: Thank you for leaving your review! We are sorry for the misunderstanding. With the scoby, you should be able to enjoy the batches as soon as they are done, beginning with the rehydration batch. They will progressively get better, as does any living thing, and we are happy to walk you through the process and answer any questions you might have along the way!

    "Amazing Product"

I can't believe how easy it is to be kombucha (mine is still brewing!). I'm very excited to try it in a few weeks. Thanks!
