    "Everything I hoped for"

Wow-I had no idea that water kefir was so easy to make. These grains re-hydrated so quickly and are making consistent batches of great-tasting kefir. Wish I'd ordered sooner-this is a great replacement for carbonated drinks-my children are enjoying the kefir mixed with a little grape juice.

"The Grain that Keeps on Giving!"

I have had my Water Kefir Grains from Cultures for Health for over a year now. I followed the directions and have even begun to experiment quite a bit with flavors and carbonating. These grains are productive, forgiving, and produce a beverage that has become a favorite by all members of our family -- ages 2, 4, 6, 32, and 34! Great stuff!

    - Granola Mom 4 God

    "Great and they keep giving"

I have had Kefir water grains for 5 years and have never had to buy a new start. Great probiotic!

    - Tullebelle

    "Absolutely wonderful!!"

I really love this product... what can I say, it tastes great, it's super easy to make, the grains rehydrated perfectly,my kids love it and it makes us healthier : )

    - Jessica

I have the pickiest eaters in history and they literally fight (I mean we actually had to pull them apart) over the kefir. We use a little organic apple juice concentrate to make a fizzy juice and it is delicious!

Instructions are very clear and I'm already on my fifth batch. The fizziness is a little hard to achieve, but I guess it depends on the recipe. Our peach flavor is not at fizzy, but the lemon/ginger was more bubbly.

    - Debi

My grains turned out perfect the first time. I was able to make soda from my first batch. And as a plus they have already started to multiply!!!

    - Jenny

    "Very pleased"

Started my first batch of water kefir. Made a bottle of mixed berry 'soda' from it. Have made several different flavors since. Also have used in a recipe for fermented cucumber pickles. I will not be buying or making sweet pickles with vinegar again. Very pleased with the product and looking forward to trying more recipes using water kefir.

    - Berta

    "Excellent customer service"

I have been purchasing products from this company for a few months now and I am gery very pleased! The directions are very clear and easy to follow with great recipes and ideas on the site and in the free e books. My recent purchase came with a flaw and it was immediately replaced. Thr only thing I would change is to lower the price a bit and leave out the sugar. Most people have it on hand. The bag in my package exploded and got all over everything. Again, it was immediately replaced and the customer service was fantastic. I will continue to purchase from culture for health and refer it to others as well.

    - The Fermentista

    "New to kefir"

Activated my kefir and have done its 2nd fermentation. It doesnt taste bad. Not very fizzy . I think once I get the hang of it, adjusting fermenting times and flavors, all will be well. I have been brewing kombucha for about 3 years , this is a lot easier. Response from CFH: Our awesome customer support team would LOVE to help you if you need it! Yes, you will experiment and fine tune things, and soon get it to where you love it!

    - Tammy

    "I'm addicted already!"

The instructions either included or accessible through links they sent me were excellent. My Kefir grains re-hydrated easily. Now I'm in the habit of re-feeding them every other day and encouraging them to grow because drinking the water Kefir is so satisfying and refreshing, I want more than one cup in the morning and one in the evening. Have tried one 2nd ferment with rice milk - enjoyed the flavor it added to my morning smoothie, but since I worked up to consuming a pint a day of water kefir, I haven't had extra for 2nd ferments. My grains seem to be happy enough that I've just graduated to keeping two quart jars going. I've had fewer and less annoying digestive problems since I began drinking this every day.

Haven't started it yet but can't wait to get going. Water Kefir is one of my favorite drinks

    - JINTZ

    "I'm hooked!"

I have made several batches of water kefir and tried a few different flavorings... I'm hooked! I found the kits a little expensive but now that I have a continuous supply of kefir, I am glad I spent the money. "Great product, instructions easy to follow"

    "Easy and Productive"

The Kefir Grains worked sooner than directions claimed (we used Organic Milk) said! Yummy! I only wish we had purchased the plastic strainer as we can't find one locally of as fine a mesh.

    - Cynthia

    "Excellent grains!"

Excellent product, well worth the price. (keep away from cats, they love the kefir grains too!!)

    - LoriA

    "Well worth it!"

The instructions were so easy, and the kefir set up on the second day. I use them now to culture 2 quarts of kefir every day and they are still going strong. My family of 11 loves kefir!!

    - Cardamom

    "Well worth it!"

The instructions were easy to follow, and the kefir set up on the second day. This same batch is now culturing 2 quarts of kefir per day and still going strong!! Our family of 11 loves kefir!

    "Great product"

The grains worked after 3 days. Great tasting kefir and easy to make.

    "Love it!"

I love my kefir grains! In just a few days I had perfect kefir to add to my smoothies. It only takes about 2 mins a day and I'm saving so much money. Plus, the kefir is way better for you than the store-bought kind. Thanks so much!

    "One Year Later....."

One year later and wow! They are still going strong. I have to consistently feed grains to my pup in order to keep production at a quart a day (Coat Looks Awesome! and she begs for it :)) . Warmer months are more productive than cooler months. I wasn't sure at first with the flavor, but after a few months, I learned what I like and what that looks like in the jar. It has done amazing things for my health and immunity! Amazing, and life changing. So yeah...it's worth it.

    - Steven

    "Worth it!"

I have no regrets after buying this kit...my little kefir critters are culturing like their life depends on it! (Which, technically, it does!)

    - Chris

    "Happy with the product."

The kefir grains worked just great, and taste great! However, I wish I had purchased just the grains, and not the kit. The temperature strip was not helpful (to me at least), and the strainer is so small that it takes forever to strain the kefir. I now use a fine strainer that I already had, and that works great. The cheesecloth was useful, and if I decide to try to make cheese, I think it will help. But, all in all, the grains are what I needed. I would order them again if I ever need to.

"The best Kefir using RAW cow AND goat milk from a local dairy"

Over the past month or so, I have been enjoying the Kefir that I have been making using RAW cow AND goat milk from a local dairy. I heard that it may not culture as well using raw milk. Honestly, now I can say that it worked well for me and I have never had better tasting Kefir! Thank you Cultures For Health! :o) Ann Chenoweth :o)

    - Anni

    "Easy Culture!"

It was the first time that I have cultured kefir (or anything for that matter). I found the instructions very well researched and easy to read. I have been using the culture now for a few months with regular, pasteurized, 2% cows milk and it is still going strong. I didn't know how much I would like Kefir until buying this culture!

    - Yurek

    "Great introduction to kefir!"

This starter culture is the perfect way to experience making kefir for the first time. Now that I've discovered I like it, I'll be upgrading to the grains. ^_^ The product and the price are excellent, & I'll definitely be back for more!

    - Karin H

    "Excellent product"

I used to use the kefir grains when we milked goats and no matter what I did, I could not make a kefir that my husband and I liked. We could only drink it in smoothies with a lot of fruit and maple syrup sweetener and that adds a lot of calories we didn't want. I worked with it for 3 years before finally giving it up. I just recently found out that there is a product such as this ... and WOW I'm so impressed. It's super easy to make and I have been able to reculture mine many times over before having to make a new batch. The taste is so pleasant that I can drink it plain or put it over cultured chutney with nothing added. I read that it might not be as potent as using grains but for those of us who were using nothing, this is a true blessing! It's an awesome product, easy to do and very pleasant, I recommend it to everyone!!!

    - Deb

    "Love it"

Super easy to do, fabulous easy to follow instructions and goof proof. I wish I knew how many times this could be reused, I followed the directions and used a 1/4 cup from the two quarts 3 times, but it was not made clear how many times that would work . Response from CFH: The number of times the kefir can be recultured will depend upon a number of factors including how careful the user is about cleanliness and not contaminating the culture.

    "I love this product"

Originally I purchased this product because it had a wider variety of bacteria and yeast plus more packets per box. I understood that I would only get up to 7 uses out of it, but the grains were too much for me to keep up with. Even using raw milk, I have been able to keep one packet going (with great results) through well over 7 uses and the taste is wonderful!

    - AngelSarver

    "Body Ecology Kefir Starter"

Great product. Tastes great, good texture and I can re-culture 7 times.

    - Jessieann

This product is awesome, and super easy to use. Each packet can be used for 7 uses (if you save a little liquid from each batch). I started with coconut water kefir (which tasted pretty gross), but used a little to start some cows milk kefir, which was delicious. Great to keep the packets in the fridge or freezer if you want to make kefir, but don't feel like dealing with the grains.

    - CTGirl

    "keifer starter"

I love the simplicity of this product; you can take it on your travels; suburb!

    - dodie

    "Good starter culture"

My first experience with Body Ecology Kefir Starter was poor. The culture was bad; it was a clumpy brown mass and did not work. However, Cultures for Health sent a replacement that was good. The packet contained the expected powder. It took ~36 hours to culture at room temperature 68-70 deg (it's the dead of winter here). The kefir had a nice, sharp flavor. I was able to successfully re-culture with some of the first batch. This time it took ~24 hours and came out great. One thing I should note is that I did heat the milk to 180 degrees and let it cool before culturing it.

    - Terri

I was looking for a way to make kefir with raw cow milk and I tried various ways before but I often ended with an off taste that my kids didn't like. With this product, the taste is perfect and the consistency amazing, the cream rise on top and it a just irresistible...even my kids ask for more.

    Plastic Strainer

    "Love it!"

I've used my plastic mesh strainer nearly every day for about 2 months, with no sign of wear and tear. It is very fine and is perfect for straining kefir grains. I need more, though, since I'll be straining my first batch of kombucha soon! Wish me luck!

    - Grantiss

    "Plastic Strainer"

Love these strainer. I've even bought some for gifting to others as there a must to have.

    - Lily

    "Great product, perfect for Kefir"

We have been making kefir for about 2 months now - and two indispensable items are a funnel and these strainers. At first the smaller strainer did the job, but as the grains have grown and our production has increased, the larger size is preferable and works perfectly with a funnel. Can't go wrong!

    - Emma

    "Great Strainer, could be larger"

The strainer works great and is very durable. For making milk Keefer, which can get some thickness, it would be better to have a larger strainer, I could use one at least twice as big or about the size of a typical kitchen strainer.

    - garberark

    "love it"

So glad to have this strainer. It is difficult to find a fine mesh plastic strainer, this is so useful.

    "Excellent Bottles...They Work So Well!!!"

I rec'd my 12 lovely bottles today and I simply adore them!!! They are going to make bottling my water kefir and kombucha so much easier now (and they are so pretty!!!!)! I've already sanitized them and filled 6 of them with my latest batch of water kefir and 2 of them with my latest available kombucha that is ready. I've placed all 8 bottles in the fridge (since the beverages already went through their secondary fermentation in other bottles before my new, pretty Grolsch bottles arrived). I'm making a new batch of kombucha tonight in my continuous brewer and am looking forward to using my new Grolsch bottles for my kombucha secondary fermentation next week! In Brewing Heaven!!!! I highly recommend these bottles! :)

    - Patti

    "very nice"

I received the bottles and they are solid and quality items. I had a bit of trouble at first putting on the tops. I had to figure it out and was stiff, but now after using them for a bit, they are fine. They keep the kombucha air-tight. I do have one question since we don't have a dishwasher, what is the best way to get them clean after use? CFH Note~ To clean the bottles, hand wash using a bottle brush like this: http://www.culturesforhealth.com/bottle-brush.html. To remove stubborn debris, fill the bottle with warm water and a splash of vinegar and allow it to sit. Discard the liquid and fill the bottle 1/4 with water and a handful of uncooked rice and shake vigorously and rinse very thoroughly.

    - Donna

    "Excellent Bottles!"

Good quality and very strong. I used this product for making my first batch of Kombucha. Have not had a problem. Very secure when fermenting! I am glad I found them. Definitely worth the price!

    Bottle Brush

    "What I was looking for"

Nice brush, but I didn't like that it was bent in half to fit in the box it was sent in. Response from Cultures for Health: We are so terribly sorry! Please contact Customer Support any time there is something wrong with your order. We are happy to help!

    - Lisa

Fits in the narrow neck of flip top bottles and has long handel

    - Brf

    "Just what I needed"

The listing doesn't specify but the brush is approximately 18" long and 2.5" in diameter. It's a serious brush with a thin handle and tip that's perfect for kefir bottles. This was exactly the bottle brush I was looking for. It was a little surprising to have the brush come bent in half inside the shipping box but it reshaped with a little effort. The brush is so sturdy it didn't effect long term use or appearance at all.

    - janasjots

    "Great Products, Not-So-Great Packaging"

This bottle brush is really sturdy and well-made but, when I received it, the handle had been bent in half to fit into the shipping box. I was able to straighten it out pretty well and it doesn't have to be perfect since it's utilitarian but I was disappointed when I first saw it looking damaged.

    - CP

Wow because I can't believe I am writing a review of a bottle brush that cost $2. And wow because I can't believe how good this thing works. It fits easily into narrow bottles and big bottles equally well. The long handle makes it easy to maneuver to ensure a good clean. Yes the handle came folded in the box as everyone says but it's wire and you can just bend it back into place--no big deal. My old bottle brush was double this price and more solid..to the point where I had to shove it into the bottle tops if I was lucky to fit it. This brush is great. So yes, I highly recommend this product.

    - M

Exactly what I was looking for. I used it to clean recycled kombucha bottles as well as bottles with a tight neck and it works very well. As other reviewers said, it came folded but I was expecting that and it hasnt affected its purpose.

    ConcenTrace Trace Mineral Drops

    "ConcenTrace mineral drops"

When I first tried to activate a batch of water kefir it didn't work. In my next order I decided to try it since the first one failed without it. I use filtered water which at the time I didn't realize REMOVES a lot of the necessary and essential minerals! This time and every time since I have used the Drops. They work like magic. I even started adding the Drops to all my drinking water and even my pets' water. The drops kept the Kefir healthy and growing beyond belief. If I didn't see it with my own eyes I wouldn't have believed it.! It also improved the taste of the water.

    - Renie

    "Great product with many benefits."

Water kefir grains appear to thrive when product is added to the water & produce better batches of beverage. Also seems to produce more action in first few days veggie ferments. Have also started adding to drinking water of family & pets. I highly recommend this product for those who need to increase mineral intake or having trouble with water kefir grains.

    - slt44

    "Saved my kefir grains"

These mineral drops helped save my kefir grains! I was having problems with my grains deteriorating and creating foul-smelling water kefir (I use carbon-filtered drinking water). I went through the recommended procedures for cleaning and resting sick kefir grains, including adding these drops, and brought my grains back from the brink. Now I use these drops with every batch and my grains are healthy and big. Best of all, no more rotten-smelling kefir!

    - kefirkrafter

    "Liquid Minerals for Health "

I haven't yet had a chance to use this product in my kefir water, but because I filter all of our drinking water and my son has what I believe may be mineral-related issues with constipation, I have added it to our drinking water a couple of times. Interestingly, he has immediately gone to the bathroom afterwards! I believe this will be just as good for kefir grains & other ferments as it is for the human body! I'm very happy with this company generally and this is a great product.

    Waterproof Digital Thermometer

    "much needed this"

New at baking bread. I now realize we pulled out many loaves not quite done. The taping and getting a hollow sound did not always work for me. This little thermometer does the trick. Now I am prretty good at guessing when the bread is done. This gadget lets me know exactly when done.

    "Easy to read"

Really glad I purchased this item

    "Reliable and easy to read"

I use it for making yogurt, and feta cheese. I use it to be sure my hand feeding formula is the right temperature for baby parrots. Easy to read and very reliable.

works fast and easy to read

    "Good quality"

I ordered this thermometer because I had a coupon. This is my first digital thermometer. I like it because it is waterproof. I use it to make yogurt and kefir. In the past, I have bought Taylor brand standard thermometers and found them to be good quality. I'm expecting this one to hold up well also.

    "Very good quality"

My sister gave me this thermometer, which she had originally purchased for culinary school, about 3 or 4 years ago. It gets regular use and has stood up to quite a bit of abuse. Very reliable and quick to indicate temperature changes. I have used it for everything from roast chicken, to Swiss meringue, to yogurt making. Should mine ever brake (and it shows no signs of doing so anytime soon) I would not hesitate to buy the same model again. Highly recommended.

    Pocket Test Thermometer

    "Basic it is"

There is nothing fancy, just a "Basic Thermometer." If you don't need accuracy or long reach it will do a fine job.

    - Chugchug

The thermometer works but disagrees with my other thermometers. I have two others that show to add starter at a lower temperature. I don't know which is most accurate. Also, the round top dial is very small and hard to read. Response from CFH: Thermometers can be calibrated. Please contact Customer Support for advice or for replacements for defective products.

"Easier than what I was using."

When I decided to make my own yogurt, I was using a candy thermometer -- something I already had. This is much easier to position and read.

    - BuckIrose

I ordered the basic thermometer, but it turned out to be a mini thermometer. Very tiny and dials are hard to read! Response from CFH: The details section note this thermometer has a 1-inch dial display and is 5 inches long.

    "Awesome Little Helper!"

My house is not very well climate controlled since it is over 100 years old and not modernized! This stick on thermometer allows me to monitor my fermenting foods at a glance. The price is right too! I will be ordering more.

"Convenient, accurate & CAN be reused"

This little thermometer is accurate (also put a "regular" thermometer next to the glass jar just to test it) and can be reused if you use a removeable clear tape on the top and bottom of the tape (leave the self stick backing on). I found it very helpful and it didn't keep falling over like the test thermometer.

    "great product"

These work great for my kombucha and water kefir!

    "Very handy! "

Perfect little helper and easy for my seven year-old to use when he helps make batches of our "soda." Unfortunately, I lost my first one and had to replace it, but fortunately it's very inexpensive. Very handy!

A tad small to read but not bad at all.

    "Great for straining yogurt"

I got this bag to strain my yogurt. It works great. I can hang it by the drawstring and in an hour or so I have have delicious greek yogurt.

    "very useful product"

Good Quality organic cotton bag, well sewn. I got the 12 x 15" bag and use it for straining Greek yogurt primarily but find other uses as well. It stands up to the boiling for sanitation and is cheaper than a Greek yogurt maker.

    "Good for yogurt!"

I used this to strain yogurt for making labneh and frozen yogurt. It works well. It will shrink if you accidentally put it in the dryer. :) Even so, I got the 12x15, which shrank to about 10x12, and is still more than big enough for my needs (I strain about a pint at a time)

    "Excellent Product...High Quality"

Rec'd my bottle tops today and am very pleased with them. I just feel better having an extra bag of these around when the time comes to replace a top when I'm bottling my water kefir and kombucha. These work great and are a high quality product. Highly recommend!

    - Patti

These tops fit perfectly on my bottles. The plugs and washers are plastic, not porcelain and rubber, but they do the trick.

    - davidsamish

    "Don't seem to fit "

I ordered these so I'd have extras on hand if I need them, but so far they haven't fit any of my bottles because the wires are too long for them to close properly.
