Whether you are making lacto-fermented pickles, peppers, carrots, or another fresh vegetable from your garden, it's critical to keep those vegetables under the brine and away from oxygen. These fermentation weights are the perfect size for keeping your fermented veggies submerged! Use one at a time or stack them for extra weight (though one is usually enough!)
Be sure to clean your Pickle Pebbles before each use. (This prevents contaminants from interfering with your ferment.) Hand washing in warm water only takes a few seconds, but they can also be cleaned in the top rack of a dishwasher. If using the dishwasher, avoid the extreme heat such as a steam setting. Do not boil your Pickle Pebbles.
