Recipe: Miso Soup

Miso soup is a gentle way to start the day or begin a meal. The broth is a simple base that can be served as-is or with added vegetables and protein, for a hearty meal.



  1. Add seaweed to water and bring to a gentle boil. Remove from heat and let sit for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Remove seaweed. Discarded seaweed can be consumed or added to compost.
  3. Mix miso with a small amount of cool water until it forms a smooth paste. Add miso to the seaweed broth and stir.
  4. Top with green onions or garlic scapes and serve immediately.
