These flip-top bottles are awesome for bottling up your kombucha or water kefir or even your homemade beer or homemade soda. So today I'm going to show you how to put the caps on the bottles because your bottles are going to arrive with the caps packaged separately.

Positioning the Cap

What you are going to want to do is first position the cap - you want this round part out and then you want the cap up with the little prongs sticking up as well.

Go ahead and place the cap on the top of the bottle. And then you want to stick one of the prongs in the hole on the side, get it anchored in there, and then slowly just scoot the other prong into the other hole. This is made way easier if you have this round piece pointing up. There you go, now it's snapped into the hole together.

Closing the Bottles

To close these, you want to just flip down the round part and now it is sealed shut. Keep in mind that the first few times you close the bottle it's going to be a little more difficult. It just needs to kind of break in a little.

Opening the Bottles

Okay, now, to open the bottle, really important, generally whatever you have in here is going to have built up some carbonation so to avoid spraying yourself in the face with your fermented liquid, go ahead and place some downward pressure on the cap, and then you want to pull up like that. Okay. And then, that way, you can slowly release the pressure on this cap and hopefully avoid any escaping liquid.

So that's it, that's how you but caps on flip-top bottles!
