    "An Excellent Culture"

What can I say? It worked perfectly, creating a delicious cream cheese! I used it with raw milk and the texture came out similar to whipped cream cheese; it was soft and spreads easily. All in all, if you want some homemade cream cheese, use this.

    - Scott

    "Good product, but pricey."

From experience, I consider these to be very good products. It is a shame they are so pricey, and they are pricey. Seems the company found out they had a good product and the price went up. Response from CFH: We are happy to hear you like our products! We do our best to keep prices as low as possible, with respect to the manufacturer's pricing as well as our third party pathogen tests to ensure your safety! Happy culturing!

I did not realize when I purchased it, but this is a very great packaging for beginners because it has the rennet already in it. How convenient! Now making cream cheese is as simple as making yogurt. Nice.

    - Davis

    "Soooo Gooood"

I used ultra-parurized Lactaid whole milk and it turned out perfect. A little sourness and oooooh so creamy. So glad I tried making my own cream cheese. It was much easier to make than I imagined.

    "Easy peasy"

So simple to do. I am fortunate to have a goat lady near me who sells her milk - so it's super fresh. Easily the best goat cheese I have ever had. I've made it plain, with rosemary, with basil, pepper, lemon rind...wrapped in basil leaves and stored in olive oil (makes for a yummy dressing or cooking oil when the cheese is gone.) I make ricotta form the whey - don't throw that out, you'll get more use out of it. So simple, fast and easy, and so good.

    - Casey

"Quality product that yields excellent results"

The directions are very clear and concise. The end product tastes great. I use the goat cheese to make goat cheese, cranberry, and pecan tarts using wonton skins.

    - kelly

    "Great for 2 gal milk"

    - had a perfect curd set from this culture!

    - bongoes

    "Ugh what a pain!"

I have been cooking all my life so I know my way around a kitchen but this... too many things needed in addition to this kit! I anticipated needing the coloring, but then rennet, then cheese cloth, then a device to separate things. I have made 5 course meals with less effort. Very disappointed, I was so excited to find this product but the company needs to prepare their customers for all of the additional items. Response from CFH: We are so sorry to hear this! The cheese items on our site can be purchased as kits or some as individual cultures. We have many articles and recipes, and even an eBook to get you started before the cultures arrive. We would be happy to assist you more efficiently next time!

    - Mitchy

"Some recipes would be a nice touch"

Product is packaged nicely and is convenient. The only insert was not really useful in my opinion. A couple of recipes would be very nice. Instead, it was back to the web site and hunting around for an appropriate recipe.

    - WNCCheese

    "Consistent Quality"

I love all the cultures I have purchased but miss the old packaging that was easier to store in my freezer.

    - MARGARET

    "Easy to use"

Bought for my cheese making course. It is so easy to use and you have excellent resources and customer service to answer questions.

    "Great taste"

I've been using the fresh cheese culture to make COTTAGE CHEESE with RAW milk. It's been working like a champ. The taste is fresh and consistent every time. My only request would be to bottle it in a bulk package and lower the price a bit. Otherwise it's very easy to do.

    - Lynn

    "This works well."

I used this for the first time last evening and the milk is ready to drain for cheese. I will probably just add juice concentrate and freeze it for sherbet.

    - Becky

"Easy to make soft cottage cheese"

My wife had a culture from her friend that we kept reusing. Then, one sunny day i accidentally didn't put some culture aside and used all of it for cottage cheese. I looked online for a similar product and found this. This culture is very similar to what we used. It is very easy to make cheese.

So, I saw someone use this to make cultured butter and let me tell you what this is amazing! I really love the flavor this imparts to my butter, so delicious. I would recommend this for anyone who is looking for something to make cultured butter with it gives it kind of a sour cream taste almost...so good!!

    "good product"

It worked well and my cheese turned out really good. I'm very happy with the product.

    - Teresa

    "Great for cream cheese"

I've been using this culture to make my cream cheese for the last 9 months. The culture seems very dependable when used per the recipe here, although I often extend the incubation to 24 hours. I use 3/4 whole milk and 1/4 cream and the result is a pleasantly mild cream cheese with a light acidity and slightly buttery flavor. Indispensable, I never buy cream cheese anymore.

    "Works for non-dairy too"

I was looking for an alternative for Rejuvilac or pro-biotic pills while making cultured cashew 'cheese' I did an experiment with 4 - 2 cup batches and varied the culture on each... this culture was by far my favorite... it came out very nice even my girlfriend liked this best even though she is traditional and likes my buckwheat rejuvilac. BTW: Your support/customer support said it wouldn't work or that you hadn't tried it or something discouraging. I tried it anyway and it worked great. Response from CFH: Our cheese cultures do contain dairy and are therefore not suitable for those with allergies or who avoid all dairy products.
