Lively culture, makes pleasingly sour bread, and light pancakes.

Using this starter according to the enclosed instructions I was able to set myself up with 3 different types of sourdough in no time. Since I have city water I did purchase filtered water, but that was the only concession I made, and one that was well worth it. It makes great bread and pancakes.

Follow the instructions included with you order and you'll have a vibrant, healthy starter in no time. My family loves sourdough pancakes now, I make them with the extra starter, freeze them, and they're handy for a quick breakfast or just a snack.
