Vegan Yogurt Starter Culture

This was my first time using and i am very happy with this product. The culture was definitely live, giving a nice degree of tartness by around 8 hours--didn't get any tarter after that, though I left it longer to experiment. I had made several batches using Stoneyfield soy yogurt but that's not vegan. The flavor with your product is so much better. I use agar to thicken and will increase to 3 tsp per 2 qts soy milk as your culture made much thinner yogurt. I made a small second batch using a 1/4 cup of the yogurt and it was'nt as flavorful, but still good. I use a heating pad and am still working on perfecting the temperature as I definitely want to keep all the cultures alive. Still experimenting with brands of soy milk and how much sugar to add to feed the culture as I want it to taste "plain, unsweetened". Making yogurt at home isn't an exact science but I have enjoyed the process and even my worst failure (using Stoneyfield) was edible and tasty--apparently the temperature of the heating pad was way too high as I got curds and lots of whey but it was great "cottage cheese", which I haven't had for 6 years as a vegan. Whey makes a great liquid to mix up ener-G egg replacer, by the way.
