Vegan Yogurt Starter
- Product Review (submitted on January 8, 2014):
I have been making soy yogurt for a very long time. Tonight I made my first batch with the Cultures for Health starter and it turned out perfectly. I used a 32 oz. container of Westsoy Plain Unsweetened Organic soy milk, although I am looking forward to trying it with homemade soy milk.
The texture was smooth, the taste was slightly tangy. I really could not be more pleased and these cultures are my new can't-live-without-it product.
I did not add any thickeners. The US dairy industry has really done a number on Americans. Anyone who has only shopped in a traditional grocery store doesn't even know what real yogurt is. All that is available is yogurt in little containers that are terrible for the planet. They are filled with sugar and other additives, and have an unnatural texture.
I'm happy to be able to make this delicious, natural product at home so easily.
