These tablets contain no animal products, and are gluten free and Non-GMO. Each tablet is scored into 4 segments for ease of use.

Ingredients: Microbial coagulant (Mucur Pussillus and/or Mucur Miehei), Microcrystalline Cellulose, and Sodium Chloride USP


Yield: 1/2 tablet will set 2 gallons of milk in approximately 45 minutes at 86-95°F. Ten tablets will set approximately 40 gallons of milk.

Instructions: Crush desired portion of tablet and dissolve in 1/4 cup cool, non-chlorinated water. Add to milk when specified in recipe. Stir to distribute thoroughly. NEVER keep part of rennet solution for later use. When using store-bought milk you may need to add a little more rennet.

Storage: Store rennet tablets in the freezer. They will last at least 3 years if stored properly.

    • Out of curiosity, what would happen if you were to add to much.
    • A little too much should be fine. Way too much could cause a bitter flavor and may result in a dry curd.

    • When a recipe calls for liquid rennet do these tablets prepared with water equal the same as liquid rennet?
    • 1/4 of a tablet = 1/4 tsp liquid.

    • 1- Will all types of rennet accomplish the same thing (e.g. can I use animal, vegetable, tablets or liquid for any project)?
      2- What are their individual storage requirements and shelf life?

    • 1) Yes, the different types of rennet perform the same task but you will use less of the vegetable rennet
      2) Animal Rennet, Liquid: - Store in the fridge, will last 2 - 3 months
      Vegetable Rennet, Liquid - Store in the fridge, will last 6 months
      Vegetable Rennet, Tablets - Store in the freezer, will last up to 3 years

    • What are the dimensions of the box that these will be shipped in? I have restrictions oh how big a parcel can shipped.
    • If it's just a strip of rennet tablets it would ship in either a padded envelope (maybe 7"x7") or a 5"x5"x3" box. Ultimately it just depends on which items you order.
