Red Rooibos originates in the highest mountain peaks of South Africa and is made of ultra-fine, delicate tea. Once brewed Red Rooibos produces a hearty red color and warm scent with a natural sweetness. Red Rooibos is high in antioxidants, trace minerals, and nutrients.  Makes wonderful kombucha tea. Certified organic and fair trade. Does not contain caffeine.

    • Many Kombucha brewers enjoy using Red Roobios. We do recommend using it in combination with black tea (25% black tea).

When I made my first batch of Kombucha at home I really did not like it. It was too strong compared to the store bought flavored Kombucha I had been drinking and I was so disappointed. Then I read I could try to make it using this Rooibos tea. I love the results! The taste is so mild and delicious that even my children will drink it. I do use about 1/4 black tea to 3/4 red rooibos. If you tried making Kombucha at home and just didn't care for the results don't give up and try it with this tea, you wont be disappointed. (Posted on October 10, 2012)
