With the Euro Cuisine Yogurt Maker, you can make homemade all-natural, rich, and creamy yogurts with any kind of milk within 6 to 8 hours. The Euro Cuisine Yogurt Maker allows you to control sweetness, ingredients, and fat content. The unit is very economical, as you can prepare up to 2 quarts of yogurt at a time. Timer on the side of the unit marks time as to when yogurt will be finished cooking. The Yogurt Maker kit includes a stainless steel thermometer, a specially designed cotton bag for making cheese, and an individual serving bowl.     • I'm interested in making kefir primarily and yogurt secondarily. It there a device on the market that can accomodate quart size canning jars and have the temperature be adjustable? Kefir appears to require a temp around 78 while yogurt requires a much higher temp. I cannot do dairy or soy and am hoping to start with kefir water and work my way up to coconut kefir and coconut yogurt. Thank you!
    • The Euro Cuisine yogurt maker will hold a steady temperature that is ideal for culturing yogurt, but is not adjustable.

      A food dehydrator can be adjusted to lower temperatures, but it is usually unnecessary to use any sort of appliance for kefir, which will culture very well at room temperatures.

    • I understand that the process is to heat the milk to ~180F then lower it to ~110F for 6-8 hours. Does this unit provide for this detailed heating sequence?
    • The yogurt maker only maintains 110ºF for the culturing period. The user will heat the milk to 180ºF, cool to 110ºF, then fill the yogurt maker with the 110ºF milk. Most yogurt makers work this way.

    • Can I make batches smaller than 2 qt using this machine? 2 qts of yogurt is a lot for me to get through in a week!
    • You can make smaller batches. Make sure and follow the instructions on your starter, maintaining the ratio of starter to milk.

    • Hi, I need a yogurt maker to follow the SCD diet. Will the timer on this maker go for 24 hours in order to ferment the yogurt for 24 hours? Thanks.
    • The "timer" is simply a reminder dial that indicates the time the yogurt should be finished. This model does not have an auto shut-off feature so it would work very well for you.

    • Will this unit fit a 1 qt. canning jar? How much room does the heater take up at the bottom of the unit?
    • The internal height is 5-3/4" to lip and approximately 5-1/4" inner diameter. A quart jar sits about 3/4" above the lip and is easily fits inside the top cover if desired​.

    • I'm interested in making Greek Yogurt which is an additional step beyond regular yogurt which requires cheesecloth and a strainer. Could this machine serve for that purpose? If so, how?
    • Making traditional Greek yogurt involves first culturing the yogurt with the appropriate starter (our Greek yogurt starter has the traditional flavor and texture), then straining the yogurt for additional thickness. You can use this yogurt maker to make the yogurt as usual, then strain it.

    • I noticed that the other model is very specific about the temperate running 100-110 degrees. Does this run at the the same temperature. I am asking because I want to use this with raw milk and don't want to heat it any higher.

    • That is the temperature at which the unit is designed to run. Occasionally a defective model will get up to 120 or 125, but if so, the manufacturer is very good about replacing it.

      No, the temperature cannot be adjusted on this yogurt maker. The temperature that it sits at is right around 110 degrees.

    • Can you fit a glass container --LARGE Ball Jar in this unit?
    • It depends on what you mean by "large". The unit is 10.5" high and 7.5" in diameter, and you would also need to allow room for the heater on the bottom, and the dome on the top.

I have the old one quart version by this company, still going strong for ten years of making yougurt. the 2 quart is more practical. really makes yougurt easy, just a quick kitchen chore. worth the money. (Posted on January 28, 2012)
