      Failed starter

Hello, its been 11 days feeding the dough, it was doin great for the first 5 days, then it starting to not do as much there was bubbles on top and it would grow about 1/4 up the jar. At no time was there and sour dough smell. Just the smell of dough. I fed it twice a day every 12 hours. I put the sourdough in my oven with the the appliance light on and followed the directions that came with the sourdough packet and it seems to have stopped being active . Please let me know what could have gone wrong.
