"Perfect for brewing loose-leaf tea"

I use these little cotton tea bags for brewing loose-leaf tea when making kombucha. I think that the little bags are cute! They are easy to fill with the tea leaves. When I'm finished with a bag, I turn in inside-out and let it soak in the dishwater as I was other dishes. After a rinse, the tea bag...

  1. Just what I needed

These little bags are just what I needed for making water kefir. I use them to keep my fruit separate from the kefir grains. The bags are just the right size for getting through the mouth of my gallon brewing jugs, and they hold just the right amount of fruit (figs, raisins, lemon wedges). They are easy to clean; I just turn them inside out and rinse them under hot water after every use (they air dry in a few hours). An added bonus is that you get 3 bags each order, which is well worth it.

    • What is the best way to clean, dry, and store this bag? Cloth coffee filters are rinsed out and stored in the refrigerator between uses. Is this acceptable for this bag?
    • We recommend a hand wash with gentle soap such as castile. ( http://www.culturesforhealth.com/organic-unscented-liquid-castile-soap.html ) Hang dry. For stubborn odors or a deep cleaning, soak the bag overnight in some distilled white vinegar, then rinse and dry.

    • Can you also use these for straining homemade butter or yogurt or nut milks? Thanks.
    • The muslin bags are a looser weave and are not well-suited for straining butter, yogurt, or nut milks. The organic cotton bag is a better choice for these jobs.
