This is a great product! My husband and I decided to give up wheat for awhile and this product allowed us to still make delicious and nutritious bread at home. It works great and I use the starter for pancakes and waffles as well. Thank you! (Posted on 12/1/2013)

The Danish Rye Sourdough starter is by far the best starter I've worked with. I can be a little neglectful at times and this starter can take it. It seems to work at a much slower (read: you made need to allow more time for things to rise) rate than other starters I've tried, but it doesn't go as sour as quick either. I've definitely abused it and after refreshing it bounces right back. I use Great River Organic Milling Rye flour that I buy in 25# bags, which last me around 4 months. Can't say enough good things about this starter and even though I've mostly dabbled in pancakes and quick breads, I am working my way up to some loaves of bread soon. (Posted on 2/10/2014)

I have used this now on 3 totally stellar pumpernickel bread batches. The culture worked quickly and it was very healthy and active. Love this product. (Posted on 4/14/2014)

I got this as a thank you gift for something (I don't remember what anymore.) All I had to do was pay for shipping, but it has been about two months ago and the starter has been very happy. I've been feeding it rye flour morning and night. I keep a pure starter in a jar and then when I get too much in the jar, I'll put some in a larger crock and feed that with whatever flour I want to or feel like. I've made biscuits, pancakes, waffles, crepes, and pizza crust this way. The sourdough flavor has not been overpowering in any of these recipes. (Posted on 2/6/2013)

My starter is started and smells great, but I have yet to make anything successfully with it. My bread didn't rise, but I suspect that is my fault. I will be calling to get advice asap.

CFH Note ~ Make sure your starter is at least doubling in size before attempting bread and start your dough about 4 hours after your last feeding. There are a lot of factors involved in the rise but we are very happy to help you determine what the issue might be. (Posted on 10/8/2014)
