This rennet is a Double Strength microbial vegetable rennet for cheesemaking. Gluten free, non-GMO. No animal byproducts. All ingredients conform to organic standards. 

1 oz. liquid organic vegetable rennet for cheesemaking.

Ingredients: Double-strength microbial “vegetable” rennet derived from Mucor Miehei (Danisco Marzyme 55 PF), sodium chloride, acetic acid, sodium acetate.

Yield: 1/4 teaspoon will set up to 2 gallons of milk. Each 1-ounce bottle contains approximately 6 teaspoons which is enough to set up to 48 gallons of milk.

Instructions: This rennet is DOUBLE STRENGTH. Use half as much as recipe calls for. Dilute required amount of rennet with 20 times its volume of cool, potable water. Immediately add into milk and stir for 2 minutes to uniformly distribute.

Storage: Store rennet in refrigerator. Will keep 4-6 months if stored properly.

    • If a recipe calls for a single rennet tablet, what would the equivalent be for the liquid rennet? I want to make sure I use the correct amount and I just got the liquid rennet from your company.
    • 1 tsp liquid equals 1 tablet.

      Watch out for double strength, which we also carry!​

    • I live in Texas and would like the liquid vegetable rennet. Would it spoil in shipping? Daily temperatures reach over the 100's F.

    • The rennet should be fine during shipping. The most important thing to do is to get the rennet in the refrigerator as soon as possible after delivery. We send tracking information with each order, so that you will know when to expect your package. Avoid letting the package sit in a hot mailbox or direct sunlight all day, and your product should be fine.

    • can this be frozen for longer "shelf life " ?
    • Liquid rennet cannot be frozen. For longer life, try rennet tablets, which keep in the freezer for up to 3 years.

It makes cheesy goodness--how can I complain? Review by Manda

This is a great product, doing exactly what it is supposed to (as far as I can tell?). I appreciate that the organic option is not more expensive than the conventional, and how you can choose between animal and vegetable. Shipping is quicker than I expected!
My only complaint is just the same as Jen's--it seems for such a tiny bottle and small price that the shipping wouldn't be so silly expensive.

I've only used this once, but it took exactly like it should have. My only complaint is that this product cost twice as much to ship order a lot at once, I guess.
