This rennet is a Double Strength microbial "vegetable" rennet for cheesemaking. Gluten free, non-GMO. No animal byproducts. All ingredients conform to organic standards. Packed in a non-certified organic facility.

1 oz. liquid organic vegetable rennet for cheesemaking.

Ingredients: Double-strength microbial “vegetable” rennet derived from Mucor Miehei and sodiumchloride (Danisco Marzyme 55 PF).
All ingredients conform to organic standards.

Yield: 1/4 teaspoon will set up to 2 gallons of milk. Each 1oz. bottle contains approximately 6 teaspoons which is enough to set up to 48 gallons of milk.

Instructions: This rennet is DOUBLE STRENGTH. Use half as much as recipe calls for. Dilute required amount of rennet with 20 times its volume of cool, potable water. Immediately add into milk and stir for 2 minutes to uniformly distribute.

Storage: Store rennet in refrigerator. Will keep 4-6 months if stored properly.

    • If a recipe calls for a single rennet tablet, what would the equivalent be for the liquid rennet? I want to make sure I use the correct amount and I just got the liquid rennet from your company.

    • I live in Texas and would like the liquid vegetable rennet. Would it spoil in shipping? Daily temperatures reach over the 100's F.

    • The rennet should be fine during shipping. The most important thing to do is to get the rennet in the refrigerator as soon as possible after delivery. We send tracking information with each order, so that you will know when to expect your package. Avoid letting the package sit in a hot mailbox or direct sunlight all day, and your product should be fine.

    • can this be frozen for longer "shelf life " ?
    • Liquid rennet cannot be frozen. For longer life, try rennet tablets, which keep in the freezer for up to 3 years.

I've only used this once, but it took exactly like it should have. My only complaint is that this product cost twice as much to ship it...so order a lot at once, I guess. (Posted on June 16, 2014)
