    • It's our understanding you can use the powder, but we do not have information or a recipe on how to use the powder.

    • Can this be used to color gray hair?
    • This should work for gray hair, but results will vary. As noted here: http://www.culturesforhealth.com/how-to-dye-hair-black-walnut-recipe it says:

      Note that this natural hair darkener is not like chemically-laden commercial hair dyes. The pigment darkens the hair for a period of time but will wash out over time, with more frequent shampoos pulling the color from the hair faster.

      To maintain the color, a small amount of the remaining black walnut hull mixture can be mixed with shampoo when washing the hair. This will replenish some of the pigment that would otherwise wash away.

      For safety, it's also noted on the product page: Prolonged use is not advised due to the presence of significant quantities of juglone, a known mutagen in animals
