  • Can this slicer be set at 1mm for slicing cabbage? Have you actually tried it? There are a lot of reviews out there and I would like to know if you have used this product in this way and feel that it performs well. Thank you very much.
  • The mandolin slicer can only go as small as 3 mm. For such a small slice as 1 mm, you might try your local restaurant supply store.

  • Thank you for your answer. Have you used this slicer to make sauerkraut? I did order it but I am wondering if it will make small enough slices.

  • With any of the blades, is it capable of chopping an onion?
    
  • The mandolin will slice an onion, but not chop it, since chopping would involve a two-way cut.
