- Add coconut oil, mango butter, and almond oil to a double boiler; melt gently, stirring occasionally with a whisk or rubber spatula.
- Once all ingredients have melted, remove from heat and cool for approximately 5 minutes. Place in refrigerator until the liquid just barely begins to solidify, approximately 1 hour.
- Remove from refrigerator and mix in essential oils. Use a mixer set on the lowest setting to begin whipping the butter. Increase speed to medium-low and whip until white and fluffy. If body butter is difficult to whip, it may require further refrigeration. Simply return the bowl to the refrigerator to set up a bit more, then repeat whipping step.
- Scrape body butter into a sealable container. Butter will keep at least a month if kept sealed tight and stored in a cool place. Use very clean hands to dip into the body butter to prevent the introduction of foreign bacteria.
Safety Note: Please note, some essential oils (such as Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, Orange, and Bergamot) can cause Photosensitization. We do not recommend the use of photosensitizing essential oils topically prior to sun or UV exposure. It's best to wait 12-18 hours after application.
