Recipe: Kefir Chocolate Frosty

In this homemade version of the famous thick and rich frosty we combine milk and milk kefir for a sweet and probiotic-rich chocolate treat.

The egg yolks are important for emulsification. If you are not comfortable using raw egg yolks then opt for the lecithin.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups milk kefir
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 egg yolks or a pinch of granulated lecithin
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
  • pinch of salt
  • 12-18 ice cubes

Instructions:

  1. Pour milk and kefir into blender. Add ice and blend at high speed until ice is crushed.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and blend until smooth.
  3. Serve immediately.
