They offer low temperature settings making them perfect for fermenting and culturing (counter-top yogurt starters, dairy kefir, kombucha, or vegetable ferments) even when your home is on the cooler side. (We suggest barely turning the temperature setting on for a nice room-temperature setting). An Excalibur Food Dehydrator even doubles as a yogurt maker for culturing our Traditional Greek yogurt starter (or any other yogurt starter requiring heat).     • Is this dehydrator tall enough to make yogurt in?
    • It all depends how you choose to make your yogurt. The 5-tray will not hold a quart size mason jar, but you can put the yogurt into half-pint mason jars and then you have individual size servings. A pint size jar would fit as well.
