After almost 2 months of kefir making, our grains have grown into these beautiful pearls! It took us about 2 weeks to start making perfect kefir, but once the grains were rehydrated and ready to go, we were quickly making a quart a day, and now make 1/2 gallon every 1.5 days. At first the grains remained pretty small (almost so much that we couldn't tell where they were!), but still we were getting delicious kefir. After some patience, as I mentioned above, the grains have grown happily.
