  • HOW TO STORE YOUR STARTER CULTURES
    Vegan Yogurt Starter:Store the starter culture in the refrigerator or freezer until you’re ready to activate it. Use the starter culture by the date on the bag.

    Water Kefir Starter:Store the starter culture in a cool, dry place until you’re ready to activate it. Use the starter culture by the date on the bag.

    Sprouting Seeds:Store in a cool, dry place. Bean Salad Sprouting Mix will keep 5 years, longer if stored in the freezer.
    SUPPLIES YOU'LL NEED
    Vegan Yogurt Culture Ingredients Needed:
  • Soy or other Non-Dairy Milk
  • Calcium Activated Pomona’s Pectin (Optional–Recommended if using a Non-Dairy Milk other than Soy)
  • Calcium Water (Optional–Recommended if using a Non-Dairy Milk other than Soy)

  • Water Kefir Equipment Needed:
  • Spring Water (Free of Chlorine and Fluoride)
  • Organic Cane Sugar

  • Vegan Yogurt Equipment Needed:
  • 1 Quart Size Glass Jar
  • Stainless Steel Pot that can hold a little over 2 Quarts with Lid (avoid aluminum)
  • Thermometer
  • Stainless steel / silicone / wood spoon or spatula
  • Sink OR Large Container Filled with Ice Water (Optional)
  • Yogurt Maker or Preferred Heating Method

  • Water Kefir Equipment Needed:
  • 1 Quart-Sized Glass Jar
  • Coffee Filter or Butter Muslin
  • Rubber Band
  • Thermometer
  • Plastic or Stainless Steel Mesh Strainer

  • How to Use Sprouting Seeds
  • Use a Jar, Sack, or Tray
  • Soak seeds for 8-12 hours
  • Once Seeds have swelled (or after 12 hours) drain the seeds
  • Rinse and then drain seeds 1-2x daily
  • Give the seeds 2-4 days to mature
