These crackers are a delicious medium for cultured spreads, dips, and soft cheeses.
1-1/4 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup toasted flax or sesame seeds
1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt
5 tablespoons olive oil
4 to 5 tablespoons water, as needed
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Sift flour, sesame seeds, and salt together. Add the oil and blend with a fork. Add the water, slowly, mixing in with a fork or your hands as you go. Do this until you can make the dough into a ball in your hands.
Lightly dust your countertop or a wooden cutting board with flour. Roll the dough out to the desired thickness and cut into 3-inch squares, circles, or triangles. Place them on a well-oiled or parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes until lightly browned. Remove from the heat, and allow them to cool completely before eating or packaging.
