Health Benefits of Sourdough
Your San Francisco Style Sourdough Starter Culture is made from organic white wheat flour and live active cultures. These live active cultures are high in nutrients and amino acids making it easier for your body to digest.

The fermentation process not only adds flavor to the bread, but also makes it easier to digest due to the predigestion of the starches in the flour. Sourdough bread also has a lower glycemic index, meaning it has a slower, gentler effect on blood sugar levels compared to other breads. This can be especially beneficial for people with diabetes or those looking to regulate their blood sugar levels.

Excellent product, starter still going strong!

I ordered the Cultures for Health San Francisco Style Sourdough Starter in 2020 and didn't rehydrate it until 2023. It was bubbly and ready to use quickly, and, nearly a year later, is still as healthy as can be! I bake with it once per week or every other week, and it's still very active, even after being in the refrigerator resting for 1-2 weeks. Extremely happy with my purchase!

    First timer

I am very excited to be starting this tradition. However, I began my starter yesterday and I seem to have misplaced the booklet that came with my purchase. Is there anyway that you could email me the booklet? I started it with 1 tablespoon of water and 1 tablespoon of flour and fitted the same thing today. Hopefully I didn’t screw it up too bad..
