Make delicious homemade cheese with goal milk. Recipes include Chevre, Fresh French Style Goat Cheese and Lactic Cheese. The recipe booklet contains recipes for using your cheeses as well as instructions for making a mother culture. Each kit makes 5-20 batches of cheese depending on the variety of cheese made.
Starter Kit Includes: 4-Goat Cheese Molds, 1/2 oz. Liquid Animal Rennet, Chevre DS Culture (5-pack), Fresh Culture, 1 yd Re-usable Butter Muslin and Recipe Booklet
Storage: Chevre and Fresh cultures should be stored in the freezer and will last up to 2 years if stored properly. Rennet should be stored in the refrigerator and will keep approx. 3 months.
Tips for Buying Milk for Cheese Making: The more highly processed the milk (prior to cheesemaking), the more difficult it will be to make proper cheese curd. We always recommend using local milk that has not been treated for long transit time.

My only experience with cheese making is mozzarella which is very simple- and cheddar which failed miserably.
How easy is goat cheese to make in comparison to mozzarella? - Fresh goat cheese is VERY simple...heat the milk, mix in the culture and wait. And don't worry if your cheese experiments don't go well at first. Even experienced cheese makers have failures from time to time. You just have to try again. :-)

- Dry instant milk is too highly processed for the cultures to use effectively. The only cheese kit that works okay with powdered milk is the mozzarella-and-ricotta kit, as those cheeses don’t require culturing.
